Where do Poppers® come from?
Poppers® are made in the hip and happening town of Appleton, Wisconsin located on the shores of the legendary Lake Winnebago. You won't find people in Appleton wearing cheese on their heads like their neighbors in Green Bay, but they do combine their cool attitude with an endless supply of Poppers® to turn any ordinary occasion into a blow-out party. Legend has it that Appleton's favorite native son, Harry Houdini, got his amazing powers of escape from a diet composed exclusively of Poppers®. We don't know if that is true, but we do know that Appleton ranks among the top ten cities in number of pubs per capita in the US. Clearly, Appletonians know tasty snacks and good friends create epic adventures.

What is the history of Poppers®?
Poppers® were born in 1992 as a unique brand of stuffed jalapeños – and quickly broadened to include cheese sticks, nuggets, and vegetables. In 1995, Poppers® became the No. 1 brand of stuffed jalapeños in the marketplace, and continues to hold that title today. It has also been the number one branded stuffed jalapeño appetizer on restaurant menus since 1993. Poppers® has brought together food and fun, and continues to develop new and exciting flavors for our consumers.

What makes Poppers® peppers special?
Poppers® contracts for more than 65 million pounds of peppers a year in five different regions across Mexico in order to assure top quality and availability in each growing season. We buy nearly two pounds of jalapeños for every one pound of peppers we actually use. That’s because we’re picky about peppers. Only 40% of the peppers we buy meet our high quality standards. The perfect peppers are processed immediately to ensure the freshest product. The peppers are hand cut and scooped to ensure a consistent heat level – not too hot, not too mild. So the next time you pop a Jalapeños Popper®, you know you can count on great taste and great quality.

Are there different ways to serve Poppers®?
Yes. Poppers® are terrific on their own, hot from the oven or deep fried, but they can also be served with a variety of dips. Ranch dressing or marinara sauces are favorites, but we’ve also put some recipes together that are delicious with Poppers®. Check ‘em out!
